ScaleTrack is built to be private by default. The app processes your information on your iPhone. The developer does not run a ScaleTrack server, create user accounts, or collect, sell, rent, or use your health information for advertising or analytics.
ScaleTrack can process and store the weigh-ins you record, dates, entry source, notes, tags, mood, fasted status, optional height, body fat percentage, waist measurement, goals, progress photos, photo alignment information, badges, reminders, preferences, and the identifiers needed to keep ScaleTrack-created Apple Health samples in sync. The local-only release described by this policy stores this app data on your iPhone using Apple's protected app storage. The earlier ScaleTrack 2.0 behavior is explained below.
The information comes from what you type or capture, screenshots you select with Apple's photo picker, and the Apple Health categories you choose to authorize. ScaleTrack uses it only to provide the features you request, such as history, trends, estimates, reports, reminders, backups, widgets, and Apple Health synchronization.
When you take a photo of your scale's display, the image is processed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in on-device text recognition to read the number. These scale photos are not uploaded anywhere, are not saved to your photo library by the app, and are discarded after the reading.
If you select screenshots for import, Apple's system photo picker gives ScaleTrack access only to the items you select. Text recognition happens on the device. The selected screenshot is used for review and is not kept after the import screen closes.
Progress photos are optional and off until you turn them on. If you enable them, the photos you take are stored in the app's protected local storage. The app does not upload them to the developer or mirror them through CloudKit, and we never see them. Because they are part of the app's data, they can be included in your own device backup (yours, managed by Apple, not something we can access). You can delete individual photos, or everything at once from Settings → Delete all data.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, ScaleTrack can save your weigh-ins to Health and import weight entries from Health and, if you log them, sync your body fat percentage and waist measurements only with your permission, which you grant through Apple's standard Health access prompt and can revoke at any time in the Health app. Health data is read and written entirely on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework; it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it is never used for advertising or analytics. This feature is optional and off until you turn it on.
ScaleTrack 2.0 offered an optional private CloudKit sync feature. If you enabled it, the app mirrored weigh-ins, measurements, profile information, goals, notes, tags, and mood to the private CloudKit database in your Apple account. Progress photos did not sync through CloudKit. Current versions do not make new CloudKit copies of health records.
An earlier private CloudKit copy is controlled through your Apple account. To remove it, use the iCloud storage controls in iPhone Settings for ScaleTrack. Removing the app alone may not remove a copy already held in your Apple account. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple's privacy terms. The ScaleTrack developer does not operate a server that can view or retrieve records from your private CloudKit database.
The optional daily reminder and weekly summary are local notifications, scheduled and composed entirely on your device from your own data. They require your permission, can be turned off at any time in Settings, and involve no server. Nothing about them leaves your iPhone.
If you use widgets, ScaleTrack places a limited snapshot in its protected App Group on the device so the widget can display it. You can hide weight values in widgets. Siri, Shortcuts, Apple Health, iCloud device backup, and App Store services are provided by Apple and are governed by your device settings and Apple's terms.
You can create CSV files, PDF reports, diagnostic files, and backup packages. A full backup can include progress photos. ScaleTrack presents Apple's save or share interface and sends a file only to the destination you choose. Once exported, that copy is controlled by you and by the destination or person you select. Diagnostic exports contain app and storage status but do not include your readings, measurements, notes, tags, or photos.
None through the app. ScaleTrack does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. The developer does not receive the health records, photos, usage history, device identifiers, or diagnostic files processed by the app. Apple may process App Store transactions, aggregate App Store metrics, crash information you choose to share with developers through Apple, and Apple service data under Apple's own privacy terms.
If you email support, the developer receives the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. Support information is used only to answer and resolve your request. Do not send health records or progress photos unless they are necessary and you intend to share them. Support email is handled by Google under Google's privacy terms. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and related records, then deleted.
The public privacy and support pages are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub logs a visitor's IP address for security and may process standard website request information under GitHub's privacy statement. The ScaleTrack developer does not add advertising or analytics to these pages.
ScaleTrack does not sell health information, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers, or disclose it to insurers or employers. The app sends information to Apple Health only when you enable that feature, to an export destination only when you choose it, and to Apple device services as described above.
ScaleTrack uses Apple's app sandbox and device data protection. Progress-photo files use complete file protection while the device is locked. The optional app lock is an interface privacy layer and does not replace your iPhone passcode or encrypt the database separately. No storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep iOS updated, use a strong device passcode, consider the app lock and widget-hiding options, and protect exported files.
Local records remain until you delete individual items, use Settings → Delete Everything, or remove the app and its local data. You can export your information before deletion. Delete Everything removes ScaleTrack's local records, measurements, profile and goal history, local photos and thumbnails, badges, notifications, exports, widget data, and local sync state. A separate explicit choice removes only Apple Health samples that ScaleTrack created. Samples created by another app are not deleted.
You can withdraw camera, photo-picker, notification, Apple Health, Siri, and device-backup permissions through the relevant iPhone or Apple service settings. Because the developer does not hold an account or server copy of your app data, the developer cannot access, correct, export, or delete that local data for you. The controls are available on your device. For an earlier ScaleTrack 2.0 CloudKit copy, use the iCloud storage controls described above.
For laws that define on-device processing as collection, this section is ScaleTrack's consumer health data notice. The categories are weight, body measurements, height, goals, dates, notes, tags, mood, fasted status, progress photos, and estimates derived from those entries. Sources are you, the camera or screenshots you choose, and Apple Health when you authorize it. ScaleTrack processes them to provide the journal, import, trends, estimates, reports, reminders, backup, widget, and Health synchronization features you request.
The developer does not sell these categories and does not share them with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, or employers. The app makes data available to Apple Health only with your authorization, to an export destination only when you choose it, and to Apple device services as described above. There are no developer affiliates that receive your health data.
You can confirm and access the app's records on your device, export them in Settings, correct or delete individual entries, use Delete Everything, turn off Apple Health access, and remove ScaleTrack-created Health samples through the separate deletion choice. These controls let you withdraw from future processing by stopping use and deleting the local records. Because the developer has no account or server copy, an email cannot provide or erase the local records on your phone.
For a privacy request concerning support information or another copy actually held by the developer, email the address below with "Privacy Request" in the subject. If a request is refused, you may appeal by replying with "Privacy Appeal." Where applicable, we will respond within 45 days, explain any permitted extension or refusal, and provide the appropriate regulator complaint method. Washington consumers can also contact the Washington Attorney General. Privacy requests are not used to discriminate against you.
ScaleTrack is a general wellness tool designed for adults. It is not designed to provide pediatric guidance, and its adult BMI estimate is not appropriate for children. A parent or guardian should decide with a qualified health professional whether weight tracking is appropriate for a minor. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
ScaleTrack is a general wellness journal and is not intended for medical use or as a health care service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Camera recognition, trends, pace, goal dates, and BMI can be incomplete or wrong. Confirm readings and do not use the app to make urgent, medication, treatment, nutrition, or exercise decisions. Review the Health & Safety notice in Settings and consult a qualified health professional about decisions that affect your health.
